Donielle brings the experience of an extensive career in marketing, business strategy and consulting in the financial services, high-net-worth and energy industries to the LEF board. Her interests include expanding LEF's reach to more students, cultivating a broad and passionate group of stakeholders for the LEF mission and developing STEM & business programs to prepare youth for the future job market. Donielle is the proprietor of Hart Hill Rentals, which provides tabletop rental and associated services for special events in Litchfield County. She lives with her husband and three children on a farm in Goshen, CT.
Julie is a passionate career-long educator, having served as a Spanish teacher and school administrator in CT public schools. She now serves as a coach and consultant, working with school districts to build leadership capacity and integrate and leverage technology for learning. Julie joined the LEF board last year because she was inspired by LEF’s commitment to lifelong learning and experiences that make learning fun and contagious for all. Julie lives in Litchfield with her husband, three book loving, rough and tumble kiddos, and a burgeoning animal contingent.
Before moving to Litchfield in 2009, Sarah spent 10 years in educational and children’s programming for film and television at several award-winning production companies in Boston and NYC. More recently, Sarah has built a reputation in Connecticut as a top floral designer and events planner through her business (Sarah Worden Natural Design). In 2015, she helped launch South Farms’ events business at The White Barn in Morris where she is Events Director. Additionally, Sarah is a Board Member for Susan B Anthony Project; she is passionate about strengthening community through organizations that bolster education and support children and families. Sarah lives in Litchfield with her husband and two sons.
Dave is the owner of a marketing research consulting firm. He has experience facilitating communication between people with different points of view. He has a “get things done on a bootstrap budget” attitude. He is an entrepreneur and believes that with encouragement anyone can accomplish their dreams. He joined LEF to increase fundraising and help LEF fulfill its mission to “enrich, inspire, and empower Litchfield children of all ages”. Dave lives in Litchfield with his wife and two children.
Tim Breslin is the husband of Sue Clarkin and the father of James, Elizabeth, and Rachel. During his career as an educator he was principal of four Connecticut high schools - Farmington, Newtown, Litchfield and Avon. In addition to his work with the Litchfield Education Foundation, he is on the boards of the Oliver Wolcott Library and the Litchfield Housing Trust. He has a BA from Mount Saint Mary's College, an MA from Johns Hopkins University, and a Ph.D. from Duke University.
A resident of Litchfield for 14 years, Debra Cahill has experience in both community and higher education as an educator and program coordinator. She strongly believes that the best way to invest in the future is to give students the tools to become innovative and creative citizens of the world. She joined LEF to ensure that children have the opportunity to learn outside of the traditional classroom.
Heather was an educator, coach and dorm parent at The Forman School in Litchfield before starting her own family. She has been actively involved in her children’s school, volunteering as Parent Association Chair, auction committee member, ski program chaperone, and substitute teacher. Heather also serves as a Community Outreach Volunteer for The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) for which she mentors families with a child newly diagnosed with type one diabetes. Heather has lived in Litchfield with her husband for fifteen years and has two children.
Rebecca has worked in communications before she came to Litchfield 14 years ago. She would like to create a path to lifelong development for all children. Rebecca is looking forward to helping LEF work towards their goals. She continues to live here with her husband and three daughters.
As a new resident to the Litchfield area, Susan brings an outsiders perspective to the LEF board. As a mother of four, she has been involved in school programs for the past 10 years. Everything from Room Mom to Parent Committee board member to Teacher Appreciation Chair, and many volunteer positions in between. With a background in journalism, marketing, and advertising, she hopes increase awareness of LEF sponsored programs and offer up her help in any way possible.
Sara is Director of School on the Green, a local non-profit parent cooperative preschool. With a masters in special education, Sara is also a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) providing home therapy to children on the autism spectrum in the greater Waterbury area. She is passionate about serving our community and enriching the lives of local area children. Sara lives in Litchfield with her husband and two boys.
