Debra Cahill

A resident of Litchfield for 14 years, Debra Cahill has experience in both community and higher education as an educator and program coordinator. She strongly believes that the best way to invest in the future is to give students the tools to become innovative and creative citizens of the world. She joined LEF to ensure that children have the opportunity to learn outside of the traditional classroom.

Heather Ford, Governance Committee Chair

Heather was an educator, coach and dorm parent at The Forman School in Litchfield before starting her own family.  She has been actively involved in her children’s school, volunteering as Parent Association Chair, auction committee member, ski program chaperone, and substitute teacher.  Heather also serves as a Community Outreach Volunteer for The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) for which she mentors families with a child newly diagnosed with type one diabetes. Heather has lived in Litchfield with her husband for fifteen years and has two children.

Tiffany Hussey, Finance Committee Chair

Tiffany is a Litchfield Native and always looking for ways to give back to our community. As a mother of a child that is always eager to explore more than the traditional classroom can offer, LEF allows me to volunteer my time and experience in a relevant way. Tiffany currently works for The Forman School and previously at a local community bank. She has a desire to bring financial literacy to our local students. She lives in Litchfield with her husband and son on our small farm.

Susan Murphy

As a new resident to the Litchfield area, Susan brings an outsiders perspective to the LEF board. As a mother of four, she has been involved in school programs for the past 10 years. Everything from Room Mom to Parent Committee board member to Teacher Appreciation Chair, and many volunteer positions in between. With a background in journalism, marketing, and advertising, she hopes increase awareness of LEF sponsored programs and offer up her help in any way possible.

Sara Schuch, Grants Committee Chair

Sara is Director of School on the Green, a local non-profit parent cooperative preschool. With a masters in special education, Sara is also a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) providing home therapy to children on the autism spectrum in the greater Waterbury area. She is passionate about serving our community and enriching the lives of local area children. Sara lives in Litchfield with her husband and two boys.

Sarah Worden, Development Committee Chair

Before moving to Litchfield in 2009, Sarah spent 10 years in educational and children’s programming for film and television at several award-winning production companies in Boston and NYC. More recently, Sarah has built a reputation in Connecticut as a top floral designer and events planner through her business (Sarah Worden Natural Design). In 2015, she helped launch South Farms’ events business at The White Barn in Morris where she is Events Director. Additionally, Sarah is a Board Member for Susan B Anthony Project; she is passionate about strengthening community through organizations that bolster education and support children and families. Sarah lives in Litchfield with her husband and two sons.
